SPRING POLISH PICKS

Transitional trends can be expensive, sometimes you can simply switch up a look with a swipe of colour across your nails. I go back to Barry M nail polishes time after time because they're are affordable and come in some of the most beautiful colours with a mega high-shine finish.

My nails are horrendous, I kid you not. They peel, they're softer than a pillow and my cuticles are dryer than the Sahara. I probably shouldn't be even attempting to apply polish onto them but in some bizzar twist of fate it actually helps stop them from breaking so easily. Although it does mean it chips within about a day of wearing any kind of polish - including gel which the paint just peels off, it's both highly irritating/strangely satisfying. This is the main reason why I don't splurge on more expensive brands because nothing lasts.

The formula is smooth and opaque with one swipe but I always apply two out of habit. I recently picked up the shades Peanut Butter - I mean how could I not with a name like that, Pink Lemonade - a friend at uni wears this a lot and has been on my wishlist for a while and Sky Blue - for that fresh pop of colour.

I definitely stick to nudes, taupes and pinks on my nails but I adore blue and something about the sky blue shade has me dreaming of blue skies and longer days.

What are your favourite nail polish shades?
