MINIMAL MAKE UP

Ok, so you know in my L'oreal Infallible total cover review I mentioned that I'd never wear a light coverage foundation again? yeah, I lied.

From a combination of watching Violette_fr  on YouTube and running out of the only foundation I brought home with me from University, I've resorted to more of a minimal approach to make up as of late. Oddly enough, I've been loving it. Not only does it take about 20 minutes off my make up routine, I actually feel more confident in my skin sans make up which is pretty incredible.

It probably wont last, as soon as I'm reunited with my full collection no doubt I will go make up crazy but I thought I would document this rare moment in my make up history.

Starting with my base. I prep the skin using a new product to my skincare routine - Sukin Rose Hip Oil (I'm still testing but I will let you know how I fully feel about it soon) to hydrate my skin. Unlike Parisian make up artist Violette, I cannot go without foundation completely so give my skin a light layer of L'oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation, this lightly evens out the complexion with a dewy finish.

I then apply Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer underneath my eyes, tip of my nose, round the nostrils and around my mouth, then blending it all out with a finger. The warmth of my fingers helps mesh the product with my skin, keeping with the really natural look I'm trying to achieve.

I've recently discovered a new favourite from my collection and it's the
KIKO Velvet Touch Creamy Stick Blush in the shade 01 - a beautiful rose gold. It's a velvety cream that I swipe over the apples of my cheeks and blend with my fingers. It not only gives you a natural looking flush, the gold shimmers capture the light beautifully. Keeping with the minimalist approach, I've also been swiping this shade across my lid and blending it out, tying it in with the cheek shades. As well as patting it into my lips. It really is a complete all rounder product, I'm kind of annoyed I left it in my drawers to collect dust for so long.

Brows are of course Benefit. If I'm after something lighter I comb Gimme Brow through my brows and be done with it. If I want a touch more definition I add some hair like strokes with Ka Brow

For the finishing touches - Benefit they're real mascara, theBalm Mary Lou-Manizer applied with my fingers to all the highlighting points, a touch of H&M Immaculate Compact Foundation underneath my eyes and in the T-Zone and then a swipe of Dior Lip Maximizer across the lips.

And thats everything. Kind of looks like a lot when you write it down but it literally takes me 10 minutes max to do it!
