URBAN DECAY ULTIMATE BASICS PALETTE

So I'm a touch late to this one seeing as it was launched back in August, but I finally got my hands on the Urban Decay Ultimate Basics palette. Take one look at my make up palette collection and you'll see that the majority is Urban Decay, their palettes never seem to disappoint me and the ultimate basics (spoiler alert) is no exception.

Regardless of any make up look, I will always use a matte shadow at some point. From setting my primer or using them as transition shades - having a palette completely dedicated to them is my idea of heaven. I already own the first basics palette and have used it to death so I already kinda knew what to expect from UD matte formula.

I'm going to kick this off by saying there is a slight variation in pigmentation between the shades, Lethal and Extra Bitter being the most pigmented. Thats not to say the others are crap because I've used them all and can promise you they are buttery, pigmented and easy to work with.

Right - Left: Blow, Nude, Commando, Tempted, Instinct, Lethal

Left - Right: Pre-Game, Extra Bitter, Faith, Lockout, Magnet, Blackjack.

The top row is more rose hued and the bottom filled with warm toned browns (my fave) as well as a jet black shade which I feel should be in every palette. All the shades are matte apart from Blow which has a slight demi-matte finish, so I use it to highlight the inner corner and brow bone.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any better, it has magnetic closure, sturdy case and a huge mirror making it ideal for traveling. It also comes with a tiny brush, one side for blending the other for smudging.
