The Best Drugstore Concealer

I never in a million years thought I would be so impressed with a £3 concealer I purchased off eBay. The LA Girl Pro Conceal, High Definition Concealer has been talked about all across the internet both for it's stupidly affordable price tag and incredible formula.

I picked up two shades, inspired by That Pommie Girl, because I wanted to contour and highlight with them. For the highlight I have Porcelain and for contour I have Toast. Despite how unhygienic is is, I kind of like the packaging; it's a squeezy tube that dispenses product onto a brush on the end. I simply squeeze, swipe and blend and I'm good to go. However it does make it slightly difficult to control how much comes out, you have to be careful with the pressure you apply else you could end up with a big ol' blob of it on your face.

It's slightly moussey in texture making it very light weight but is still highly pigmented. It doesn't crease or look cakey under the eyes, nor does it cling to dry patches.

I wouldn't recommend using the darker shades for contour as they are very warm and pull slightly more bronzey than ashy. But if you're medium skinned or fellow fake tan junkie, then this works beautifully at adding structure to the face.

I am super impressed with the quality of these concealers, I've used them every day since they arrived it's just makes contouring such a breeze. You can buy LA Girl products from BeautyBay however if you want these concealers a little cheaper I purchased mine from eBay for £3.38 each!

GRWM: Coffee Date | YOUTUBE

On a recent shopping trip at KIKO I picked up some new eye shadow bits, the running theme is that they were all colours. Totally inspired by the purple shade (152) in the haul, I created this look. I paired it with my go-to hair at the minute, using a Treseme wand to create beachy waves.

Benefit Brow Wax Review

Benefit are currently giving away a free Gimmie Brow with every brow wax this month and I'm a sucker for a freebie and a good set of brows. So off I popped to my local counter, took a deep breath and endured the 5 minute pain and walked out with a fresh set of perfectly groomed brows and a full sized Gimme brow in my bag.

Benefit now make it easy to book online (here) - I've been put off before because I absolutely hate ringing up anyone ha, you simply type in your location, select what you want done and then it gives you an option as to who you want to do it for you.

All I have to say was that my experience was wonderful. As always, the ladies on the benefit are beyond lovely, despite my appointment being at 2pm I wandered in at about 12pm to make sure I was actually booked in and as they were free they squeezed me in there and then. I must admit the girl who did mine wasn't overly chatty, but I'm not really good at holding conversation with strangers anyway. The one thing I was concerned about was that she didn't ask me how I liked my brows etc, she sort of just went straight in and did her thing.Unlike my little sister who had another girl from the counter who asked lots of questions with regards to her brow preference. Thankfully, mine still turned out fab.

On a scale of 1-10 I'd say the pain was around 5, it's over so quickly and the aloe vera stuff they apply afterwards completely soothes it. She also re-applied make-up to my brows to save me from continuing my shopping with bright red brows. However, I experienced quite a bad break out around them which might have been caused by applying make-up directly to open hair follicles. But neither of my sisters have experienced that so it must just be me and my overly reactive skin.

I absolutely love the shape, they're still thick but are so crisp and the shape is exactly what I wanted. I didn't get a before picture, I completely forgot, however I did manage to get one of my sister, Naomi - Who's never touched her brows before may I add!

I love how full they've kept my sisters brows but really enhanced the shape. Both of my sister are now Gimme Brow converts, they absolutely swear by it.

I've heard so many good things about the custom tint Benefit offer however I wasn't feeling like re-enacting the awful reaction I had last time I tried dying my brows (I looked like frankenstein), so I asked for a patch test but even though I had no problem with it, I'm not sure I want to risk it. Always get a patch test folks.

I will definitely be going again, I can't imagine letting anyone else at my brows and for just £12.50 it's completely affordable.

Sleek Matte Me Liquid Lipsticks

Evidently, I am part of the minority who can't be bothered with the faff surrounding the Kylie Lip kits. They look fab and have had such rave reviews, but I am well and truly put off by the possibility of customs charges and the awful customer service reviews.

Instead, for once, I have turned to the drugstore to get my liquid lipstick fix. At just £4.99, these Sleek offerings caught my eye. Oddly enough, I was drawn to the nudes from the range, it seems fitting that bold shades should be in long-wear formulas because it takes the stress out of maintaining a power pout, so why shouldn't we feel the same about the nudes?

Liquid lipsticks are pigmented creams that are seemingly shiny when first applied, then dry down to a matte finish, that sticks around through eating, drinking etc. However, I would just like to note they do suck all the moisture out of your lips, I don't think we've hit that point of a moisturising liquid lipstick, I'd give it a year or so. You usually get a choice; longevity or hydration, but the two rarely go hand in hand.

The Sleek Matte Me liquid lipsticks are an absolutely fabulous drugstore offering. Gorgeous pigmented shades that last. I'm a lip biter, so I usually have to re-apply around the centre but through eating and drinking? this doesn't budge. To make the most of these products I would suggest exfoliating before hand so the cream glides on effortlessly and doesn't cling to dry bits.

I own two shades (but no-doubt this will increase):
- Birthday suit (bottom) - a beautiful mauve brown, your lips but better shade.
- Petal (top) - a soft pink, perfect for spring/summer.

Both shades are super wearable and can be paired with pretty much any look.
