H&M Beauty Haul | March 2016

Another haul? yeah well I'm not in London that often and London stores always have the best range of make-up so have to grab the opportunity whilst I can. I was completely blown away at the extent of the beauty range, from hair care to uber pigmented eye shadows, there was so much choice that it completely overwhelmed me and I only ended up leaving with three things. That and the rude lady who told me off for looking in the drawers completely made me feel uncomfortable so I wanted to get out of there as soon as poss. There's a difference between politely informing that I wasn't allowed to and being down right rude. I guarantee that If I had been an older lady or looked my actual age then there would be no way she'd have talked to me like that. grrr.

I headed straight over to swatch the cream shadows. As you may or may not know, cream shadows are my thing. They're the easiest and fastest thing to throw on in the morning or if you're in a rush. I am also a complete magpie for anything coppery/warm bronzey, this Global eyeshadow pot in the shade My Two Cents completely ticks all the boxes for me. Long lasting, easy to blend, stunning vibrant colours, I'm just gutted I didn't pick up more shades.

Next was the glitters, every time I browsed the beauty section on the H&M website the glitters were the first thing in my basket. Unfortunately I never get round to checking out the basket because I hate buying products I haven't seen in real life just incase they're nothing like the pictures, which happens more often than not. The shade Catherine Wheel was the shade I was instantly drawn to. It's a light dusty pinky/silver glitter, it captures the light and completely transforms any make-up look. It's a little chunkier than Mac Glitters so you need to be extra careful to avoid getting any in the eye, using a glitter primer or some fix plus to 'glue' the glitter to the lid is essential.

The last thing I picked up was my absolute favourite. The blending brush is tapered so fits perfectly in the crease and the shorter bristles do all the blending work for you, I am definitely buying another one of these - a complete steal for £4.99, the handle looks so chic and performs way better than my more expensive eyeshadow brushes.

Have you ever had a bad customer experience anywhere because of age, race etc? - let me know, I'd be interested to hear peoples stories.

NYX HAUL | March 2016

I have been dying to get my hands on some NYX products ever since they started being stocked in Selfridges in London. There low price point and innovative products caught my attention way back and after finding a tiny stall in a make-up shop in New Jersy, I picked up some Jumbo eye pencils and Butterglosses and was super impressed. This time I picked up 3 more things to add to my collection.

The HD concealer has been raved about across the blogging world. Being an acne sufferer I'm always on the hunt for a great full coverage concealer that looks natural but not cakey. Unfortunately the crappy lighting in there meant that the shade I picked up 03 (light/pale) is slightly too peachy for blemishes and so works much better underneath the eyes to cancel out any dark circles.  It's got a good amount of coverage without being too heavy, a great way of getting into colour correcting with out going all Instagram on that shit. It's formulated without talc and parabens which is always a good thing and it also photographs beautifully.

The one item from NYX I've wanted the most was the Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade Copenhagen, ever since I saw this Pin on Pinterest. This gorgeous deep berry shade is perfect for Autumn/Winter. Obviously we're heading into spring/summer but just incase I never get a chance to back into Selfridges before September, I know I've safely got Copenhagen tucked away in my collection. However for the summer months I picked up the shade Morocco which is a bright orange/red. If you read my blog last summer you would have seen I was on the hunt for the best orangey/red lipstick and so every time I see one, I have to pick it up! I love the formula of these, they apply evenly with an incredible punch of colour, however the longevity isn't all that great. Avoid wearing these when you know you're going to be eating otherwise you'll be left with a ring of colour around the edges of your lips. But the finish is lovely and matte, not the most hydrating of formulas but it seems that hydration and matte don't go hand in hand.

NYX is now being stocked on ASOS so I might pick up some lighter shades in the concealer to try out. What are your favourite products from NYX?

I was very kindly invited to the #RevolutionBirthday celebrating all that the brand has achieved over the last 2 years. It was an opportunity to have a sneak peak at newly released products - which look amazing may I add, as well as hearing their announcements including a mega competition!

If you're not aware, Make-up Revolution is one of many brands under the TAM beauty umbrella. Other ranges include the I <3 Make-up (with their selection of too faced chocolate bar palette dupes and stunning baked highlighters), Freedom make-up (Pro products fit for a make-up artists kit) and Colourless (a range of hair products) - all of which are all just as affordable.

They are also a brand that truly understands the importance of social media and bloggers when it comes to selling products. They've collaborated with British Beauty Blogger to create a stunning palette called 'The Fortune Favours The Brave' it contains a good selection of shadows ranging from matte to gorgeous shimmers.

Out of their new ranges I am eager to get my hands on the Shimmer Bricks, they look and perform almost identically to the Bobbi Brown offering except their only £3!

In addition to all these amazing new launches, Daisy Smith (Beauty's big sister) announced the incredible competition that Freedom Make-up is running #IAMFREEDOM. They're looking to find the next big thing in Make-up artistry, the competition launches in April and 30 entrants will compete in 3 challenges to earn themselves a place in the live final in front of some celebrity judges. The 4 runners up with receive £1,000 and the winner will take home the mega prize of £10,000 and a years supply of Freedom products as well as a partnership deal with them for a year. I assume more details will be released closer to the entry dates but this is not an opportunity you want to miss out on!

I vlogged a little throughout the day, click the video if you wanted to see what I got up to -

February Favourites | 2016

I'm going to save you the whole 'where's the month gone?' rubbish because I'm starting to sound like a broken record, so I'm just going to jump straight into my February Favourites.

First up is a mascara. Now if you've watched my YouTube Videos  (drinking game, take a shot every time I plug my Youtube throughout this post ha!) you'd have seen me using the Revlon Ultimate All In One Mascara and I simply can't get over how absolutely tiny the brush is. I've dreamed of finding mascaras with super tiny brushes that allow you to coat each and every lash from root to tip, from inner corner to outer and here I am, able to pick it up from the drugstore for less than a £10! Impressed doesn't quite cut it. The only thing that could improve it was if they brought out a waterproof version. curly, fanned out lashes? I'll take the lot.

The Freedom Pro highlight palette has been one of the best drugstore purchases in a long time. Not only is this palette completely affordable, it contains not one but 8 shades of highlighters and contain both powder and cream finishes. It covers all highlighter bases from cool to warm tones, theres simply no need for me to buy any other. However, I'm addicted to make-up so I'll continue to buy highlighters regardless of whether I need them.

YSL hands down, do the best packaging ever. If you're looking to spice up your beauty collection with a luxury purchase I would 100% recommend the Rouge Volupte Lipsticks. They're light weight on the lips, pigmented and hydrating. My favourite shade is no.1 which is a stunning soft pink nude that pairs beautifully with smokey eyes.

Because I'm hooked on Karima from Shameless Fripperies' youtube, I've found myself preferring that natural bushy brow as apposed to the more popular instagram brow. My face is so wonky it simply doesn't lend itself to a precise brow, it just eventuates the un-even-ness, however brushing up my brows and filling in any sparse areas with the Soap and Glory Archery Pencil with the tint/felt tip end has been doing the job just nicely throughout February. It's lovely and thin so mimics brow hairs easily and the shade is lovely, it's not too warm. It's not necessarily cool either but then again I'm yet to find a product from the drugstore that is.

If you follow me on twitter you will have seen the odd tweet regarding my skin. I trialled quite a few new products this month, including a primer, moisturiser and cleanser. Clearly that was a massive no no, but I'm way to impatient and when I buy new things I like to try them asap. However karma hit me 'like a big yellow school bus' and my skin freaked the freak out. Painful under the skin bumps appeared all over my face, it became so dry it was unbearable and opening my mouth made my eyes water. I also developed patches of eczema under my eyes. All signs pointed to an allergic reaction to one if not all the products and I became desperate in the big to relieve the dryness. I eventually turned to coconut oil. If you're acne prone like me that slavering oil on your face is also probably not the best thing to do, but honestly it was the only thing that provided some sort of relief. It it so worth the hype. I also love leaving this in my hair over night for a super hydrating mask, it leaves my hair so glossy and soft.

I finally got round to purchasing a Macbook air this month, after my previous laptop decided to give up the ghost and I must say it has been one of the best investments I've made in a long time! A laptop that loads within seconds makes me very happy. Plus it's meant that I am finally able to edit and upload youtube videos, which is now my new favourite thing and I just wanted to say thank you for every one who has subscribed, liked and left me a lovely comment. If you haven't subscribed, what are you doing? support a gal, search 'deliciously-floral' or click here - https://youtu.be/_SbBzB4WOA4 :)

Whats been the product you've reached for the most this month?
