Burgundy Smoke

I wore this make-up recently to a fireworks night gathering and received a lot of compliments so I decided to blog it, as you do. I'm obsessed with anything warm and smokey when it comes to my make-up at this time of the year and the top I was wearing was a stunning shade of burgundy which instantly made me want to use every burgundy eye shadow in my collection.

When using reds, the base has to be flawless. Any redness in the skin will be highlighted by the red in the shadow, so I slathered on a good layer of Estee lauder Double Wear and concealed blemishes and imperfections with the collection lasting perfection concealer. I set it all into place using soap and glory one heck of the blot.

Brows were groomed using Essence make me brow and Soap & Glory archery pencil to fill in any gaps.

Now for the main event, the eyes. I will admit that the crisp line was made purely by using my trusty mini post it notes. I started off with Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Metallic Pomegranate all over the lid and blended it out. For the crease, I used Mac Texture and then went in to deepen it up with Swiss Chocolate. The lid wasn't quite as red as I wanted, so I applied mac Cranberry over top. I used Urban Decay Crave in a 'v' shape on the outer corner for that elongated cat eye shape. For the glitter I packed on Topshops Shuffle the Cards over the inner half of the eye and the inner corner.
For underneath the eye I applied cranberry, then crave on the outer corner to connect the top and bottom lashline, then shuffle the cards on the inner corner.

I then applied a heap load of Maxfactor false lash effect mascara.

I contoured using maybelines mastersculpt, then went in with the warm brown shade from the sleek face form palette and applied the rose gold blush over top for some warmth.
For the lips, I kept them neutral with mac Hue.
