Ladival Sun Care*

I was very kindly contacted by Natalia from Ladival to see if I wanted to trial their Sun Protection just in time for the 'sort of' good weather this weekend. What makes this suncare different is that it's the first mainstream brand to protect against harmful Infared-A Rays, as well as both UVA and UVB.

If you're anything like me you're probably thinking 'what the bloody hell are Infared-A Rays?' well they are rays that emitted from the sun that penetrate much deeper than UVA and UVB and can cause both short term and long term skin damage. Having seen members of my family suffer with cancer, I'm keen to make sure I'm doing everything I can to ensure I'm protected.

This is also suitable for sensitive skin as well as those who are suffering with eczema, I can safely say that I'd didn't aggravate mine at all. However it is advertised as being non-greasy but it definitely is, even hours after application it was still as greasy as it was when I first applied it. Although I can cope with the greasyness if it means I'm protected from sun damage.

It also has a very strong chemical scent when first applied and the instructions say not to rub it in however due to the pump application, it needs to be rubbed in otherwise you'd use an entire bottle in one session and for £19.99 a pop, that's not something you'd want to do.

Estee Lauder Double Wear

You know that time where I said my favourite foundation was Nars Sheer glow? yeah, I lied. I'd always imagined that Estee Lauders infamous Double Wear was super heavy and cakey but I soon discovered a light hand and a good colour match can make all the difference.

It's no joke when they say this is full coverage - a pea sized blob is enough to coat my entire face and conceal all my acne scars with ease. However the pump-less bottle (biggest pet hate ever) turns a pea sized blob into a swimming pool if you're not careful.

The formula isn't the lightest I've ever tried, but it's not heavy either, I can wear this all day without feeling like I'm wearing a mask. Also I'm not kidding on the 'all day' because this stuff is truly long-wearing, as the name would suggest. I wore this too a wedding and my base stayed just as flawless from the minute I put it on to over 12 hours later. It's so long wearing that you have to use a creamy cleanser to remove it, simply rubbing a face wipe over it doesn't do the trick and can end up breaking you out.

The shade 1N1 Ivory Nude is a perfect match for me and leaves my skin looking airbrushed, it makes a change to have compliments on my skin rather than feeling super self conscious over my acne and scarring.

Love, love, love this stuff!

Cream Highlighter Collection

My highlighter collection is predominantly creams; it's probably the natural sheen from the cream mixed with the iridescent glow of the shimmer that draws me in. It has the ability to provide a natural lit from within effect, whilst still looking extraordinaryly beautiful.

I've said it before and I'll say it again (until I find something better) topshop highlighters are hands down the best cream highlighters on the highstreet. Particularly the Topshop glow pot - not only is the glass pot luxurious (yet not practical in the slightest)  the product itself is a perfectly irredecent cream that effortlessly blends into the skin, giving an almost wet look finish.
The Topshop glow stick gives a similar finish but with more of a cream to powder formula, making it a brilliant slap and dash product.

The ELF all over face stick was concidered a dupe of the nars multiples, which initially drew me in. The shade persimmon is a pinky beige cream although unlike the topshop highlighter stick, it doesn't set. The formula itself is quite thick, making it impossible to wear over foundation, however it works beautifully when applied on top of tinted moisturisers and bb creams. The all over face stick is absolutely tiny, perfect for throwing it into your bag for on the go application and touch ups.

Another affordable cream highlight I love comes from essence, a brand I believe is only sold in wilko stores. The so glow highlighter is a cream-to-powder formula that feels completely weightless on the skin. Whilst it does have a rather obvious shimmer, the shade 'Bright up your life' does exactly what it says on the tin, this particular shade would look beautiful on paler complexions.

A slightly different type of highlighter in my collection comes from Burberry, the fresh glow nude radiance luminous fluid base (and breathe...) it's a water based 'primer'. It doesn't exactly make foundation adhere to it, it simply lifts a sallow complexion making any foundation you apply over the top luminous. You can also mix it in with your foundation or apply it over the top exactly where you want a strobe like glow. If you're not a fan if glitter, then this might not be the best product for you, whilst it's not chunky there is obvious glitter.

Top-Bottom: Burberry Fresh Glow Nude Radiance, Topshop Glow Stick, Elf All over Face Stick, Topshop Glow pot, Essence So Glow Highlighter.

Let me know if you would like to see a post on my powder highlight collection and I'll be sure to get one up for you.

Front-Back Earrings | Accessories

Silver Arrow - Primark, Pink pearl - Asos, Pearl and Gold Arrow - Primark, Pink - River Island

My latest jewellery obsession comes in the form of dainty, front-back earrings, a modern take on 'dangly' earrings. The drop part coming from behind the ear adds so much interest, a great way to amp up a look without being in-your-face.

Most places are selling them, the cheapest of course being Primark, offering a wide range of gold and silver coloured options for a £1 each! I also have some from Asos and River Island and I have my eye on a few from Topshop. I find these much easier to wear than longer earrings and they're much more understated.

OOTD | Wedding Guest Edition

Strapless Bra - H&M, Bag- Primark, Shoes- New Look, Maybelline Nail Polish, Jo Malone- Vanilla & Anise

The last time I went to a wedding I was a grumpy little girl with a head of white blonde curls, who was throwing a paddy because I didn't want my picture taken on a Tuesday. 10+ years onwards and planning my outfit, hair and makeup for this family wedding was beyond exciting (/stressful) and I definitely wasn't throwing any strops about having my picture taken!

It was an absolutely wonderful day and I wish Rachel and Jake all the best for the future!

Outfit -
Dress - Zara
Scarf - Forever 21
Shoes - New Look
Bag - Primark

As for makeup, I knew that I wanted to keep it soft and girly! An obvious choice is of course bringing out the Naked 3 palette, ram packed with pretty pink hues. I started off with a Laura Mercier Caviar stick in Moonstone - a stunning sparkly taupe. I then blended it out with nooner in the crease. I placed Mugshot on the outer corner and blackheart along the lashline. For some extra glitter I packed on the gorgeous kiko cream shadow in the shade 05. As for lips it had to be Mac hue, for a perfect soft nude pout. I'm a little annoyed I have no close-ups of the makeup but I was a little rushed for time, doing both mine and Naomis makeup.

New In | Estee lauder

Believe it or not, I've never tried anything from Estee Lauder before now. However, that doesn't mean to say I haven't been dying to try their products, starting with the infamous Double Wear Foundation.

After running out of Nars Sheer Glow, I thought it was about time to try something new (don't worry I'll probably still be re-purchasing SG, there's only so long we can be apart) - a perfect opportunity to try the double wear. Seemingly it was fate as their was 10% off at John Lewis, along with another offer of a free gift stuffed with make-up and skincare when you purchased two products, one being a foundation. They're so darn good at sucking you in.

So not only did I pick up Double Wear in the shade Ivory Nude, I purchased one of their new Matte Lipsticks, John Lewis didn't stock the Kendal Jenner shade I'd been after so I went for the next best thing, a stunning orangey red called Envy. I'm definitely going to have to pick up more of this range, the formula is amazing, it's not drying yet it's super long lasting with intense colour pay off. Plus I'm a sucker for lipsticks with magnetic closure, so fancy (and so it should be for £25!).

The free gift included 3 make-up items, two samples and 3 skin care bits as well as a cute little make-up bag.
Make-up -
Mini Little Black Primer: another item on my Estee Lauder wishlist, I think this will be the perfect mascara to use when you're going to be wearing false lashes.
Mini Black Kajal Liner: creamy, easy to blend. looks gorgeous smudged into the lash line for more of a smokey effect.
Mini Pure Colour Lipstick - Pink Parfait (Shimmer): A gorgeous everyday pink however it's a bit too frosted for my taste, so I'd have to wear it underneath a gloss.

The samples are of the illuminating primer and the double wear concealer in 3 shades.

Skincare - All targeted for anti ageing, which sucks.
Advanced Time Zone Eye cream
Advanced Time Zone Moisturiser
Advanced Night Repair

Full review of the double wear foundation to come, make sure you're subscribed or follow me on bloglovin' so you don't miss it!

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara (Waterproof)

Maybelline are a brand that I keep coming back to when it comes to mascaras. They have such a big selection including ones to lengthen, add volume, the list goes on and on, it's rare that a high-street brand mascaras actually achieve what they put on the bottle.

Their most recent launch is the Lash Sensational Mascara, which I picked up in the waterproof formula. The wand is almost identical to that of Benefits Roller Lash and offers a similar lifted and curled effect, even when I don't use lash curlers.

Want to know what the best part is? the Maybelline version is 100x's better at a fraction of the cost. Of course if you're not big on the volume part then you're feeling might be the other way round, but the maybelline offering gives you curl, length and heaps of volume without looking spidery! Another bonus is that the Maybelline formula doesn't run down your face like it's higher end sister, well at least the waterproof version doesn't.

Cannot sing the Maybellines Lash Sensational Mascara's praises enough and would completely recommend it!

July Favourites | 2015

July has been such a good month; I turned 19, took a trip to Brighton, caught up with friends and finally got my majorly overdue haircut. As well as re-discovering some of my favourite beauty bits, shockingly enough I bought hardly any makeup (apart from that teeny tiny Kiko Haul), so this month has been all about shopping the stash.

I think it was about this time last year where I pretty much spoke about this product in every single post. It gives a fresh glowy finish, diffuses flaws and imperfections whilst not looking cakey in the slightest. I'm literally scraping the jar with a cotton bud to get every last drop out before I fork out another £30.

Burberry Fresh Glow Nude Radiance, Luminous Fluid Base - No.01
I've been applying this round my cheek bones, temple and brow bone underneath my foundation for that lit from within glow. This is also a great product to achieve that 'Strobing' look in a more natural way.

This is simply the perfect nude, it's just enough pink to stop it looking like concealer and has a gorgeous glossy finish that glides over the lips. I've been pairing this with everything this month.

Eyelure Brow Marker - Blonde
I stopped using this for ages thinking that I'd got a dodgy one as the ink wasn't coming out enough, however but the fact that it takes a while to build up colour gives you much more control and a more of a natural finish. The shade is also perfect, absolutely no warmth in sight.

By far the best highstreet contour palette I've ever tried. The colour is the perfect ashy shade to give the illusion of shadow rather than warmth, it's also an absolute breeze to blend.

This is the ultimate crease/transition shade, it warms up any eye shadow look and really compliments blue eyes. It's definitely up there as one of my favourite mac shadows.

What products have you been loving the most this month?
