All About That Base | Mac Studio Fix Fluid

Fun fact for you all, it's been a year since I bought my first Mac foundation. Yup, it's taken me a whole year to purchase another and I can't tell whether that's because my will power is through the roof or because I don't live close enough to a Mac counter to get colour matched - as much as I would love it to be the first, it's more likely to be the latter.

Anywho, I bit the bullet and used a Mac voucher I received for Christmas to purchase the infamous Studio Fix Fluid. A product that promises to be medium coverage, long lasting with a natural matte finish.

I'm just going to start with a winge and say the bottle is impractical, it's made of glass and weighs a tonne, you just know it's going to smash if you're unfortunate/clumsy enough to drop it. Plus it doesn't come with a pump and nothing pisses me off quite like spending over £20 on a foundation and having to fork out another £4.50 on a pump. Thank goodness the product itself it's bloody marvelous.

I was worried that it was going to be really heavy on the skin and whilst it's definitely not lightweight, it's still comfortable and breathable. It can be built up or sheered out depending on application, but one pump is all I need for my desired coverage (I use a Real Techniques Buffing Brush). Another massive bonus is that it is oil free so perfect for oily skin sufferers and I find that I don't really need to powder throughout the day after the initial powder application in the morning. With it having an SPF of 15, it's sort of a no go if you know you're going to be around flash photography but if you're not too fussed, this could make a perfect night out base, leaving a long lasting, flawless matte finish.

This is  a total contender for matching my love for the NARS Sheer glow foundation - bold statement ,I know, but I'll be sure to keep you posted.
