NARS Pro-Prime Pore Refining Primer

I never really saw the fuss in primers, surely if a foundation was good enough it wouldn't need another product underneath it to improve it's finish, longevity etc. Plus every single primer aimed towards pores and oily skin seemed to have that greasy silicone texture that I cannot stand. That was until I tried out the Nars Pro Prime Pore Refining Primer (longest name ever) whilst being colour matched for another product.

I was intrigued by it's moisturiser-esque texture, it didn't feel like it was smothering my skin, instead it felt really hydrating despite it being oil-free. The results are also instant, it leaves my skin practically poreless. It also claims to reduce the appearance of large pores over time, thanks to the pure lentil seed extract but I'll keep you posted!

The ingredients also include pure mineral powders to keep shine at bay but also promises to be alcohol-free, paraben-free as well as synthetic fragrance-free, so shouldn't aggravate sensitive skin. This has totally changed my opinion of primers and I notice a dramatic difference in the way my skin looks instantly after make-up as well as the wear of it throughout the day.

Definitely one to try if you suffer with oily skin and enlarged pores.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser...

It feels like the cult  Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser (try saying that three times in a row) has been around forever and everyone and their dog has tried it and loved it.

My skin is absolutely vile at the moment, I'm not too sure what happened but over Christmas it flared up so badly and literally every day started with at least one new under the skin disaster. I'd ran out of cleanser so instead of doing the right thing and going out to buy a new one I just used bioderma and just hoped it would do the job - stupid me, right? Clearly it wasn't cleaning my skin and getting every last inch of built up dirt and make-up and was ultimately contributing to my acne. Eventually, I'd had enough, gave into the hype and tried the cleanse and polish.

I just want to start off by saying if you're not a fan of the scent of Olbas Oil then you'll probably struggle to get over the scent of this (perfect if you're also suffering with winter sniffles though). I purchased the starter kit because it came with two muslin cloths and well, one can never have enough muslin cloths and it came with the 100ml bottle.  I love the fact it comes with a pump, the only thing that bugged me about the Clinique take the day off cleansing balm is that you have to dig your fingers into it with isn't the most hygienic of methods.

The product itself it's wonderful, I have sensitive skin and it's gentle enough not to react with it but strong enough to remove every last trace of make-up. I don't use it to remove my eye make-up after it stung a little the first time I used it, I figured it's safer to use something on my eyes I trust wont react with them. I also double cleanse to make sure my skin is truely clean and ever since I've used this little beauty I haven't had another under the skin painful nightmare devil spot, thank god really, I don't think I would have been able to cope emotionally if my skin had got any worse!

All About That Base | Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser

I got majorly over excited to find a NARS counter in the Sheffield John Lewis, which somehow blinded me from the reality that I really didn't need anymore make-up. I decided I needed to get my hands on the Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer, right there and then.

A firm favourite from many of my favourite Bloggers/Vloggers, it seemed only essential to try it for myself. Unlike many TM I have tried in the past, this has a medium coverage - especially perfect for someone with skin imperfections, who is looking for something lighter, with a dewy finish, but still covers well.

Obviously the term Tinted Moisturizer means it offers a good amount of hydration and comfort, keeping the skin looking radiant and fresh throughout the day (plus it's oil free!). On top of everything, it contains SPF 30 & PA +++ meaning it will help protect your skin from sun damage (more info on sun protection here).

This makes a perfect every day go-to base. It covers everything that needs to be covered, whilst looking skin-like. I have the shade Finland (perfect match for my NC15 skin) I would definitely say it's worth the £29 price tag.

looking for all things dewy skin inspiration, I've got a whole pin board dedicated to some of my favourite looks here
