Real Techniques Duo Fiber Face Brush Dupe?

The answer is no, no I haven't found a Real Techniques Duo Fiber Face brush.

If you've taken a trip to Wilkos recently you would have noticed that they have revamped their entire beauty range. Along with a tonne of cool patterned brushes, nails and hair brushes, they've also introduced a range of affordable make-up brushes. They initially caught my eye from the orange handle, similar to the shades of the Real Technique brushes. Of course, me being me, I couldn't leave without trying one out so I picked the one that I liked the most - the duo fiber foundation brush.

I already owned the duo fiber brushes from Real Techniques, so my next task was to compare. It's advertised as a foundation brush, but I can 100% confirm that it does not live up to its name. I tried it with 3 foundations - A tinted moisturiser, Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum and my beloved Nars Sheer Glow and it left all three looking very streaky on my face. It's liquid blending capabilities are not definitely not up to standard, unlike the RT version, which I find does an amazing job at offering a sheer coverage of foundation and blends it to perfection. As well as not blending very well, the Wilkos brush also shredded a lot which I wasn't to impressed about.
Also they both have very different shapes, the Wilkos brush is a flat top whereas the RT alternative is domed and tapered.

However it's not all bad news for this brush. I gave up the idea of using this for liquid products and instead tried it with face powder and bronzer and it does an amazing job at not picking up to much product and offering a sheer wash of colour/powder. I would completely recommended it to be used on the more pigmented of products, to avoid the bronzer looking too muddy or the powder looking too cakey.

It's a good powder brush but it's not anything spectacular but then again I wasn't expecting much from a £4 brush. It definitely doesn't compare to the quality of the Real Technique brushes, I'm still yet to find something as good as them on the high street.
