Kate Bosworth Tutorial

If you follow me on instagram, I recently posted an appreciation picture for Kate Bosworth in the September issue of InStyle. I was absolutely obsessed with the make-up worn and have been dying to re-create it.

There isn't a lot of close up pictures of the make-up in colour, so I'm having to do a bit of improvising when it comes to the eye make-up colours. However the main focus is the gorgeous precise red lip that appears to have a metallic shimmer running through it at first glance. However after further inspection, the lip colour is matte red with a slight glossy texture. But that's boring so I'm sticking with the first idea, so push my comfort zone a little.

I started by perfecting the skin using the Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation, then concealed any imperfections using the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. For my brows I used the MUA Pro Brow Kit - using the dark brown shade and the wax from the kit.

For eye shadow base I used my trusty Mac Painterly Paint Pot. Kate's eye make-up was very winged out so to achieve a precise line I used thin sticky note things from Muji. I then went in with the same powder as I used for my brows and went to town with defining the outer corner and winging it out. To deepen it further I used the Black eye shadow from the Sleek Oh So Special Palette. All of the depth and the colour was on the outer corner, so for the front I used Mac All That Glitters Eye shadow.
I then applied a L'oreal Super liner to my outer corner and only brought it along the upper lash line about half way, I also winged it out. I then applied Covergirl lash blast mascara.

Back to skin, Kate has fabulous bone structure, something I was unfortunately not blessed with, so I had to cheat it a little using my favourite cream contour - Illamasqua Cream Pigment In Hollow.

For the lips I outlined and filled my lips in using Mac Lip Liner In Cherry. However this is not as dark as I wanted it to be so I went around the outer corners in a sort of ombre effect using Kate Moss For Rimmel Lipstick - 07.  To add that metallic shimmer I patted Mac Tan Pigment over the top.
