Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet

If you haven't heard about the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvets then you need to climb out of that rock you've been hiding under and hop on this bandwagon at once!

I own three of the eight shades available and I can safely say it wont be long before the rest of them fall into my make-up stash.

03 Hot Pepper - A true, vibrant orangey red shade.
05 Ole Flamingo!- A warm toned pink that looks amazing when paired with tanned skin.
07 Nude-Ist - A mauve/ slightly darker than your lips (but better) shade.

The formula of these is somewhat between a lip stain and a liquid lipstick. I'll be honest, the first time I applied this to my lips I wasn't really sure if I liked it or not. It's like nothing I've ever tried before and I'm almost certain there's nothing quite like it on the market (Bonus innotive thinking points for Bourjois). However, after testing it out a few times and become used to the strange consistensy, I fell in love.

They last all day without fail. I wore Hot Pepper on a day trip to Alton Towers and when I checked my make-up in the car on the way home everything else seemed to have either migrated or melted off but my lip colour was still on point.

But of course, like anything, there are always a few negatives. I've found that one layer is enough, any more and the lasting power is suddenly non-existant and after a short while you'll find yourself rocking that not- so-stunning lip liner look. Also, ensure that your lips are well prepped, all matte lipsticks cling to dry lips like crazy, so a quick wiz round with a lip scrub followed by a hydrating lip balm should do the trick.
