Take the YSL Rouge Volupte shine and lipstick, for example.
Top- 8 (Rouge Volupte Shine) Bottom-1(Rouge Volupte Lipstick) |
If you can look at this packaging and not immediately want to buy it, I applaud you.
Shade 8 is a you're lips but better rosey shade with tiny little shimmers running through it and shade 1 is a matte, more pigmented version (colour wise not formula). Both of which can be worn day/night and with many eye make-up looks. I prefer having muted more wearable shades so I can get a lot of use out of them for the price. I like to feel like I haven't wasted money, seeing as these cost £25 (!) each. The formula is very glossy, the only thing I could compare it to is the Revlon Lip Butters, but slightly more light weight on the lips. There's also a lot of pigmentation in these, with one swipe you get an intense amount of colour and they also leave a slight stain behind once the gloss has faded.
As much as I 100% say they are worth the money, I wish they'd add some sort of scent to them, like MAC's trademark vanilla, for added luxury. But they just thrash the competition with their packaging and formula and I know i'm not the only one who has succumbed to this. They also make perfect gifts.
