2015 Resolutions

2014 year has been a whirl wind of ups and downs, but it's ended on such a high that I hope that 2015 is a year full of happiness and success for both myself and everyone around me.

As cliche as it is, a new year feels like a new beginning. A chance to try something new or to achieve a goal that you needed an excuse to start. I love new years resolutions, whether I actually go through with them is another thing, but it's nice to know that you have something to aim for in the new year.

  • To Start a YouTube Channel - This has long been a dream of mine, so I've been saving up to purchase a Mac Book, so that I can actually edit videos etc. Just need to pluck up the courage to actually start filming.
  • Eat Healthy - In previous years this one has always been 'to lose weight' but I couldn't be happier with myself and I don't want this year to be another year where I'm obsessing over the way I look. I need a good balanced diet to get me through the long days at college. I was going to try being vegetarian but I love bacon too much.
  • Take Risks - This mainly applies to college, I want to push myself to be the best I can be and if that means I regularly make a fool out of myself, so be it.
  • Spend More Time With Family-  admittedly I haven't seen my grandparents and Dad enough this year, so I'm going to make it my mission to spend more time with them, after all they're not around forever.
  • STOP PICKING MY SKIN- 2015 is going to be the year I kick a habit of a life time, from the first of january I will not pick, scratch, touch my skin (unless to apply skincare or make-up). I will also go back to taking my medication, I'm determined to have clear skin!
  • Be Happy - to keep as positive as I am now, throughout the whole of 2015.

What are your resolutions for 2015?

Combat Dry Skin This Winter

Being exposed to the cold wind outside followed by the  the central heating inside can cause havoc to your skin. Usually I'm a sufferer of oily skin all year, but my skin has been so dry and flakey as of lately so I've been raiding my collection for all the hydration boosting products in a desperate attempt to combat it.

When my face is dry no foundation ever sits well and I'm never happy with how my make-up looks, this is usually the time I wack out the Origins Drink up Intensive over night mask. This deliciously fruity scented mask feels more like a super hydrating moisturiser, it doesn't have the typical thick mask like texture instead it just sinks in to the skin beautifully. Did I also mention that it smells amazing?!

I love body moisturisers but many are way to thick to use in the morning before dressing, instead I've been reaching for the Vaseline Spray and Go (in the Aloe scent). There's none of that digging your hand into heavy butter like creams, you simply spray the fine mist on to the limb of choice and rub in and it pretty much absorbs instantly - no waiting around before getting dressed. It offers an instant boost of hydration and smells super fresh, but not at all over powering and doesn't interfere with any fragrances you put on later.

My hands had gotten to the point where they're bleeding because they're so dry, however my Soap and Glory hand maid is definitely working a treat to inject some hydration back into them. I must admit this product is slightly greasy so I wouldn't recommend it if you have to do a lot of writing in day to day life.

I've already done a full review of the Nuxe Reve De Miel Lip Balm ((read it here)) but to sum it up, it's the best lip balm for thirsty skin and I can see results after the first use!

Tanya Burr False Lashes

Personally, I think it's amazing that vloggers/bloggers are launching their own products,  it's lovely too see their success grow from their first blog/vlog to now and it's even more satisfying to feel like you've been with them on their journey.

The best part is that the products aren't some namby pamby merch that's had their name stamped all over it, they've been truely part of the entire process and work closely to ensure that the products are a representation of that person as well as being tailored specifically to the audience they attract. For example, beauty blogger Tanya Burr launched her own line of beauty products consisting of lip glosses, nail varnish and the most recent edition; eyelashes.

Tanya's clearly taken on board everything she likes and dislikes about false eye lashes and created a range of,what I would describe as, the perfect false lash. I've previously purchased the Date Night lashes and I absolutely loved them but I was so eager to try them, the only images I have are ((here))

Superdrug had recently had an offer on most of her range, so obviously I had to try another pair. This time I went for the Everyday Flutter lashes, these are half strip so they look a little more natural than a full strip but still add that gorgeous full lashed look. They also come with a small pot of glue, that is probably the best lash glue I've tried. The only thing I find annoying with these lashes is that they're slightly too long for my eyes, just wish they were a little shit shorter. But that's not to say they wont look gorgeous on other eye shapes.

I can't wait to try out the rest of the range!

Christmas Sparkle

Top - Bottom:  Collection Glitter liner - Funk & Hustle, Topshop - Wax & Wayne, Mac Tan Pigment, Mac Rose pigment

As soon as Christmas rolls around out comes my stash of glittery & super shimmery shadows. I know for most people, the thought of wearing glitter can be quite intimidating so I've rounded up a few ways you can join in with the festive trend without going all out glitter ball.

Glitter Gel Liners - Collection
This is probably the easiest way to wear glitter. Loose glitter can be a total nightmare, so encasing it into a long lasting gel means minimal mess and full control. Collection do an amazing selection of gorgeous glitter liners for under £3 each.

Duo Chrome Glitter Shadows - Topshop Wax and Wayne
Pop this purple glitter eye shadow over the top of a smokey eye and you'll recieve a tonne of compliments at your Christmas party. In some light's it's brown and in others it's purple, it's perfect if you're not feeling full on glitter, something subtle and pretty is always a sure winner.

Loose Pigments - Mac
These are for complete glitter phobes. There so shimmery that they're half way to a glitter, but not quite. I am obsessed with Tan pigment from Mac and I love wearing it washed across the lid paired with some fluttery lashes. Rose pigment actually contains tiny gold glitters running through it but still looks subtly beautiful.

Christmas Party Make-up #2 - Metallic

Hi I'm Olivia and I'm a Pinterest addict.
I've probably spend a good few hours a day trailing through Pinterest, drooling over the editorial make-up images and using them as inspiration. This metallic trend in pariticular caught my eye and I've been dying to re-create it. I love the contrast of the inner corner paired with a neutral toned, yet metallic smokey eye.

Untill I find a foundation that I love more than Nars sheer glow, my base will always be the same regarding parties or special occasions. See my prevous post in my Christmas Party Make-up series (here) for full list of base products.

Brows are a same story, I swear by the Anastasia Dipbrow pomade in Blonde.

I started off by priming my eyes with the Urban Decay Primer potion, then applied maybelline colour tattoo in the shade On and On Bronze all over the lid and underneath the lower lashline.
I then mixed a bit of smog and half baked, dampened my brush with some setting spray and then packed that onto the lid, this helps to get that intense metallic finish I also used this on the lower lashline. I then went into the inner corner with half baked on its own, then applied a small line of the Essence turquoise Waterproof liner. I finished it off with a line of creep along the upper lashline and added some mascara.

I bronzed up my skin using the Body Shop Honey Bronzer and then contoured slightly with Mac Harmony blush.
For lips I patted in the YSL Rouge Volupte lipstick in the shade 1.

The Body Shop Honey Bronzer

Winter has always been a season of embracing natural paleness and rosey glows but unfortunately, without a good dose of bronzer, my natural complexion can leave me looking quite sickly.

Most bronzers on the high street tend to come in only one or two shades - orangey matte or orangey shimmery, neither of which really compliment the palest of skin tones. Not too long ago the Body Shop launched their range of Honey Bronzers and answered the prayers of all fair skintones everywhere, offering a selection of shades suitable for just about everyone.

Embossed with a honeycomb pattern, the shade 02 (fair matte)  is a buildable yet natural looking bronzer. This obviously wouldn't suit those with naturally warmer skintones as it probably wouldn't be all that visable, but for my pale complexion it works wonders on adding an injection of life back into my skin.

The packaging is sturdy yet sleek and has an almost holographic honeycomb pattern on the lid. It also comes with a mirror, perfect for traveling or on the go application!

What are your favourite Bronzers at the minute?

November Favourites 2014

It's that time of the month again where I share all the goodies I've been loving. Starting off with the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer (see full post here), full coverage without the cake? This product ticks all the boxes for the perfect concealer and I cannot get enough!

I'm in a constant battle with my brows, but a new product in my collection has made me feel a little less stressed with them. The Eylure Brow Ink is a double ended brow felt liner product that allows you to easily mimic the look of actual brow hairs, sounds odd but it's super easy to use.

I used to only use Marc Jacobs Dot for special occasions, but I recently decided to wear it for daily use and I've been obsessed. It's the perfect balance of fresh and floral and lasts for absolutely ages.

Whilst I'll always love my beloved Nars Sheer Glow, it's not the most pratical for days of dancing at college, so instead I've been opting for a little lighter coverage from Mac Face and Body. It's super lightweight, moisturising and evens out skin tone. It's not very good in the concealing blemishes department but that's what my Radiant Creamy Concealer is for.

I seriously don't know how I've survived without Mac Harmony Blush, it's the most perfect every day contour shade that can be used subtly, with a light hand or built up for stronger definition. I've worn it every single day since I bought it. Another Mac item I've been loving this month is Mac Brick-O-la Lipstick, it's a red/browny shade that is a gorgeous 'every day red' (click here to see swatches)

I recently picked up the Origins face mask set whilst it was on offer in boots (and as far as I am aware, it's still on offer so go grab it whilst you can!) and I've fallen in love with the Out of Trouble 10 Minute Mask but not for as it's intended. Instead I've been applying it to any break outs and leaving it on overnight and in the morning spot size and redness is dramatically reduced!

My final favourite of the month is christmassy candles. It usually takes me a while to warm up to the fact Christmas is coming, but this year I'm slowly easing into it by buring some gorgeous candles. My favourite at the moment has to be the Yankee Candle (simply home range) in Christmas Treats, the smell makes my mouth water, it's a seriously yummy scent!

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

For me, concealing is the most important step in my make-up routine. It allows you to cover any confidence shattering imperfections without caking up your entire face. I've always relied on the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer and as much as I love it, I was finding that it was beginning to look very cakey and drying on the skin.

I've had my eyes on the cult NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer for a long while, but found it very difficult to get hold of in the shade 'Vanilla', luckily I found it in stock on John Lewis and popped it straight into my basket without a second thought. Costing £22 for 6ml of product, it's definitely not the cheapest option out there, however I have to say it's worth every single penny.

It's full coverage but still creamy and feels completely weightless on the skin. It's also hydrating enough for underneath the eyes and I find it doesn't crease on me at all, even if I don't powder!

Worth the hype? I think so.

Christmas Party Make-up - Gunmetal Smokey Eye

Would recommend going over the lash band with some black liner, once the lash glue has dried.

I absolutely love this time of year regarding the make-up trends, basically it's just an excuse for me to whip out the glitter! The first look in my Christmas party series is a blue toned smokey eye. This is probably the most intense out of the looks I'm doing but it sure is pretty!

Starting off with the base, I used some trusty faves - NARS Sheer Glow, NARS radiant creamy concealer and Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder.

Moving on to brows, I wanted to perfect them but keep  them looking natural. I just used my Brow Archery from Soap and Glory and set them in place with Benefits Gimmie Brow.

I've got an obsession with using sticky tabs to help achieve that precise line on my make-up recently, I purchased mine from Muji, but most stationary places sell them for super cheap (or you could use tape, just be sure to take most of the sticky off it on the back of your hand so it doesn't rip your face off ha). I then go in with a heavy duty primer like the Urban Decay Primer and apply Buck from the Naked Palette to my crease. When using cool toned shades like the gun metal greys, I want to make sure I've applied a colour that's warmer so I don't look dead. I then went in with Gun Metal across my lid and blended it out. I then followed this up with Creep (a black with blue glitter) to intensify the outer corner.
Now for the main event, I applied Collections Glitter liner in the shade Hustle (blue toned glitter) to my inner corner. I love using glitter liners instead of loose glitter because there is no fall out and no mess. I then went in and applied essence pencil gel liner in black to my lash line, tight line and lower waterline and ran gun metal underneath my eyes, followed by buck to blend it out. Follow up with mascara and lashes - my favourite are the Tanya Burr Date Night Lashes.

I used Mac Harmony Blush to contour, Sleek blush in flushed to add colour and Topshops Glow pot to highlight. For lips I applied a touch of Maybelline colour elixir in the shade petal plush.

'I'm all about that base'

I absolutely hate this song, but it felt quite fitting as a blog title.

Being 'blessed' with acne usually means my base is probably my most important step in my make-up routine. Covering the unsightly scars and blemishes is now second nature and I've been loving my little routine I've been opting for at the moment.

I start off with using my Garnier Miracle Skin cream as a primer, this is one of those products that comes out a white cream and then alters to your skin tone as you blend it in. It's a multi purpose base that evens out skin tone, hydrates and offers a lot of good skincare goodies. I then follow this up with the Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation - I love the mousse texture that this has, it feels almost weightless on the skin but seriously packs a punch in the coverage department (clues in the name). It's also a combination of products that continue to look better as the day progresses.

I then go to town with the concealer, my blemishes are usually bright red and no matter how full coverage the foundation I'll always need to follow up with a concealer. My all time favourite is definitely the Nars Creamy Radiant Concealer, it's perfect for under the eyes as well as blemishes and offers enough coverage without looking cakey or obvious. I waited a long time to get my hands on it and I have to say it was worth every single penny.

To then set everything in place I use the best drugstore powder there is and that's the Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder. This finely milled powder offers a final hit of coverage as well as setting my base and ensuring that it lasts all day even with my ridiculously oily skin at the moment.

The Queen Of Lip Balms

Hi, I'm Olivia and I'm a lip balm hoarder.

I've probably own enough lip balm to supply my whole town, however I couldn't help but add another to my collection especially as it was on 1/3 off. #sorrydefinitetlynotsorry

If you haven't heard of the Nuxe Reve De Miel honey lip balm, then you probably crawl out of that rock you've been hiding under and get aboard this bandwagon because it's definitely one worth being on. Nuxe is a french pharmacy skincare brand and well, french skincare is the bomb.com. With the rave reviews floating round the blogger world, I was expecting big things and I must say I've not been disappointed. It's a thick honey coloured balm that smells of citrusy goodness (in a natural way, not an artificial way), it smells good enough to eat. A unique thing about this balm is that it has an almost matte texture, unlike most glossy balms, you can hardly tell you have anything on your lips - A fabulous option for any long haired gals.

The packaging is a slight issue, although it looks ascetically pleasing in it's luxurious glass pot, it's weight doesn't make it particularly handbag friendly, so it stays on my skincare shelf for use before bed and before make-up application. But this is possibly the most hydrating lip balm I have ever used and you really don't need a lot, so for £9.50 (!) you really do get your moneys worth.

If you're someone who tends to get really dry lips throughout the winter, I would say this is a great staple skincare product that I would 100% recommend investing in, your lips with thank you for it.

You can purchase it from escentual.com and they've regularly got offers on, so if you're not prepared to pay the full price, keep your eyes pealed for future offers.

DailyLook.com - “LBD from Day to Night challenge!”

I was recently contacted by Dailylook.com to take part in their 'LBD Day to Night Challenge', where I picked a dress from their Little Black Dress range on their site and then used their handy 'Style Set' tool to lay out ways I could wear the dress.

I'm a massive fan of little black dresses, in fact pretty much all of the dresses in my wardrobe are black. They're so versatile; they can be styled in pretty much any way you want, all you need to do is switch up your accessories and bobs your uncle, you've got yourself a whole new outfit.

As you can see from the style sets I've created, I like to keep it simple, with the pop of colour coming from one accessory. Sometimes it's through make-up - like a bold red lip, or in this case a handbag. I loved the little palm tree detail on this dress and so influenced the fresh colours I chose for the bags in both the day and night option.

To browse the rest of DailyLook's little black dress collection click (here) - there's definitely something there to suite everyone with a whole range of looks and styles.

Brown toned Lip Loving

L-R: Brick-O-La, Twig, Nude Perfection
Mac - Twig

Mac - Brick-O-La

Maybelline - Nude Perfection

I can't promise that this will be the last time I go on about how much I'm loving brown toned lipsticks at the moment, but I will try my hardest.

Anyway, seeing as I have waffled on about them for ages, I figured I should probably dedicate an entire blog post to some of my favourites. Starting off with Mac Twig and holy moly do I love this colour, It's slightly mauvey as well as being brown toned and just brings so much warmth to my complexion. I love pairing this with a berry toned blush for that really Autumnal hue.

My Best friend recently went to New York and kindly brought back me a gift of Mac Brick-o-la which I would say is Twig's more red toned cousin. Shout out to Kitty for having amazing taste in lipstick colours and for being just as obsessed with the brown lip life. Both Twig and Brick-o-la are both excellent options for those with paler skin tones, as more cool toned browns tend to make us look a tad dead, whereas the mauve and red tones really warm up your entire look. Kitty also has an amazing Instagram that you should definitely check out (here)

For more of a nude brown hue and a more affordable price, I would really recommend Maybelline Satin Pencil in Nude Perfection, these have such a gorgeous pigmented Matte finish and are so handy for on the go application.

The Glow-Getters

As you can see, they're all pretty well loved.

I avoid highlighters like the plague in the summer, my oily skin combined with a shimmery highlighter only makes me look as if I've dunked my face in a chip fryer. However as soon as it gets cooler I've raid my stash in search for that perfect dewy glow to brighten up my complexion and make me feel 100x's more awake than I feel.

My favourite base for a 'lit from within' look is the Burberry Nude Radiance in the shade No.1. I sometimes mix this with my foundation to extra dew-fiy my face, but I mostly use it as a primer and I must say it does a fabulous job at acting as a magnet by holding onto my make-up for dear life.

The next is unfortunately discontinued, but I couldn't not include it. The Mac Pearlmatte Face Powder in the shade In For A Treat was from Macs Baking Beauty collection and this particular highlight is the best subtle glow giver in my collection. It's a beautiful champagne shade that also contains that hint of pink, but the shimmer is almost undetectable on the skin (in more of a glow from within way). If you're lucky enough to find someone selling it, I would recommend grabbing it, If not just for how beautiful the product looks in the packaging.

Topshop are my favourite brand when it comes to highlighters. All the ones I have tried from there are absolutely amazing. The Glowstick highlighter is basically a stick containing a cream to powder formula that makes application a dream - you simply swipe on, blend and go. The Topshop Glow Pot is a little different, in that it can be a little messy when it comes to application, I wish it came in a tube that you had to squeeze out, never the less it is stunning. It's more of an iridescence on the skin rather than a shimmer and it catches the light perfectly. Both of these products last amazingly well on the skin also.

October Favourites 2014

As I've mentioned in just about every post this Autumn, I'm favouring the trend of a brown toned lip and if you read my MAC Haul (Here) you would have seen that I picked up the shade Twig and it's safe to say it has been gracing my lips ever since. It's a satin finish so it just wears so nicely and feels quite hydrating. I love pairing this with Soar Lip liner, for a really precise edge, although I must say they're almost Identical in colour.

I purchased the Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder earlier on in the month and I absolutely flipping love it. It's a finely milled powder that offers a hint of coverage, sets make-up and keeps shine away pretty much all day, what else could you ask for?

At last the gods at Maybelline have listened and brought out a range of Colour Tattoos in the Uk that aren't metallic. The shade Creamy Beige has been the only eye product I've used all month and because it stays in place all day, it makes a perfect product for my more dance oriented days at college. you can read my Maybelline Colour Tattoo full review and swatches (here).

Since I started blogging in March, the only eye make-up remover I'd ever loved was the No.7 Beautiful Skin Eye Make-up Remover as it was the only one that didn't make my eyes swell. For £8 per 100ml, I was desperate to find a cheaper alternative and when I finally got round to trying Bioderma I was completely shocked at how amazing it was at removing make-up yet still being super gentle on the eyes (see full review here). Although you can't pick up Bioderma at your local drugstore in the UK, you can get it on Escentual.com really easily and they always seem to have some sort of offer on.

Ok, I would just like to make a start by saying I'm hugely sorry for anyone that has been around me this month because chances are I've burst out into a song from Frozen every 30 seconds. Yes, I'm a year late with the whole Frozen bandwagon, but I finally got round to watching it and I am very much on board and obsessed. I just love the fact that it's not your conventional Disney happy ever after, plus the songs are so bloody catchy. If anyone fancies buying me an Elsa costume and an Olaf toy I would love you forever.

I've pretty much been incorporating Nutella into every meal of the day. On toast for breakfast, Nutella and go's for lunch and then strawberries dunked in Nutella for desert. The amount I've been consuming is definitely not healthy and I should probably be seeking medical advice but it's just so delicious!

And finally, what October Favourites would be complete without a special mention to my beloved Pumpkin Spice Latte. It's so frustrating that my nearest Starbucks is about 20 minutes, actually no it's probably a good thing, if it were any closer I'd be spending an unhealthy amount of time in there.

COLAB Dry Shampoo

Not too long ago I did a little rave about the new dry shampoo from herbal essences, I would like to give an update on this and say that unless you store these upright the product becomes almost completely unusable. Basically I'm pissed because I've wasted two full bottles through no warning or advice with regards to storage. Rant over.

The beautiful Ruth Crilly from www.AModelRecommends.com has launched her own line of dry shampoo and I'm just going to get straight to the point and tell you they are bloody fab.

I'm all for a dry shampoo that doesn't have any colour, I cannot stand batiste and that awful grey residue that no matter how many times you try and brush it out, you still end up finding grey bits through out the day. This dry shampoo doesn't contain any of that and doesn't have that vile gritty texture (that batiste is also guilty of having) it actually leaves you hair feeling freshly washed and smelling lovely.

Each scent is named a different place from around the world, I had to pick up the New York one because it's definitely my favourite place in the whole world and this particular scent smells incredible, although it doesn't last all day which I'm not too fussed about as I don't really like it to interfere with the fragrances I'm already wearing.

The dry shampoos are available in both full sized cans as well as the mini ones, like I picked up, which is perfect for throwing in your handbag. I would completely recommend this if you've got long hair and you're like me and too lazy to wash it all the time or even if you're not too comfortable with dry shampoo through fear or the grey mess. Trust me this product is impossible to mess up with.

Great job Ruth, can't wait to try out the other scents.

Essence Waterproof Gel Eye Pencils

I've been a little quiet on the blogging front recently so I just wanted to start off by saying that I have well and truly got my blogging mojo back and I cannot wait to share some of my recent finds.

I did a blog post on my first impressions of a few lip products from the brand Essence a while back (you can read it here) and I must say I was super impressed. It's a super affordable brand found at Wilkos and they literally have everything you could ever imagine and more, from full on nail art to ombre blushes- you name it and they probably do it.

On my recent browse I came across their waterproof gel pencil liners, expecting them to be not all that great, I swatched them on the back of my hand and was completely blown away. I tried the teal shade first and I was pleasantly surprised at the creaminess and the pigmentation of it, then when I went to blend it, to see whether it would just rub off, it didn't budge in the slightest! I needed a black eyeliner anyway so I picked up both the stunning teal and the jet black shade which didn't set me back too much considering they're only £2.50 each.

They last literally all day on the eye's without smudging or melting and even when I tight lined using it, it didn't transfer at all to the bottom lid! I would 100% recommend checking these out if you're on the hunt for an amazing affordable waterproof liner.

MAC Haul

Note to self, don't use the Mac chat live to an artist option when you're #feelingspendy
Yup, I'm still obsessed with my brown/nude 90's lips and what better place to search for the perfect one than the likes of Mac. My nearest counter is almost an hour away (on a good day) so physically asking an opinion of an artist at the Mac counter and swatching the products wasn't an option.

I spoke to the lovely artist Lavinia who recommended me two of the three products. It's so easy to chat, all you have to do is fill in your name, email address and details on your hair, eyes and complexion and then you're put straight through to an artist to ask any question you wish about their products or recommendations.

I firstly asked about the perfect Kylie Jenner lip for my complexion and was recommended Twig and I have to say it is perfect. It's a warm brown mauvey colour that is now my go to autumn shade.

I don't really own a lot of blushes from Mac but I love the ones I do have, so I queried about more of a sculpting blush - I'm not really a fan of really bright blush tones. The shade Harmony was suggested and so of course I had to purchase and again it was exactly what I was looking for, it's a perfect grey toned shade which doesn't look 'muddy' on the skin. If you're ever stuck or need suggestions when it comes to Mac products, seriously go check out the chat to an artist live because it's super helpful especially when you want that immediate response!

I also picked up Soar Lip liner, this shade has been buzzing round the blogs at the moment for apparently being one of the actual shades Kylie Jenner uses. By complete accident, it turns out both twig and soar together make a good combination, so a good purchase all round really.

any more recommendations on some more browny nude shades from Mac are welcome!

My Everyday Autumnal Make-up 2014

This look is probably less autumnal and more 90's grunge, never the less it's been my go to look at the moment and I have to say I'm quite enjoying straying away from the conventional.

Firstly I like to make-sure my base is flawless, which of course means I use my holy grail trio of Nars Sheer Glow, Collection Lasting Perfection Concelaer and my Bourjois Healthy Mix Powder.

My brows are probably the only thing that aren't particularly 90's because the thought of purposely having spaghetti thin eye brows makes me fell quite nauseous. Instead I just fill them in, enhancing their natural shape with the Soap and glory Brow Archery and then deepen up the colour using my Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade in Blonde. Then to keep them in place I use the Rimmel Brow this way in Clear.

I then move onto my eyes, I wash the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Creamy Beige across my lid and blend it out. I then follow up with applying naked from the Urban Decay Naked Palette to set it into place. Then I apply a brown eye liner to my upper and lower lash line and then blend it out using a pencil brush. You could also use a cotton tip or just your finger to do this. Then I apply a  thin line of gel liner and then wing it out followed by couple of coats of mascara and that's the eyes complete.

I'm loving anything brown toned/mauvey on the lips and 'the one' from Make-up Revolution is a lipstick I've been reaching for loads, want to know the best part? it only costs £1!

Because the browns tend to make me appear slightly dead, I go back in with a bronzer to my skin and I swear by the contour shade in the Sleek Face Form palette and then apply The Natural Collections blush in the shade Peach Melba to my cheeks and I'm good to go.

Updated Skincare routine (Autumn 2014)

Just think how cheap and simple our skincare routines would be if the seasons didn't have such a massive impact on the way our skin works. Anyway, mine has changed recently and I've incorporated a few new products that I am obsessed with and need to share asap!

Evening routine

I start of my removing my eye make-up with a spot of Bioderma (Sensibio) and I do this by soaking a cotton pad and holding it over my eyes for a couple of seconds, then wiping away. For the first step in my cleansing routine I go in with the Body Shop Silky Chamomile Cleansing oil and then follow it up with the Bioderma (Sebium) to ensure everything is fully removed. I then go in with a face mist and at the moment I'm loving how refreshing the Body Shop Vitamin E facial mist is. My Body Shop Serum-in-oil is then patted into my skin, only to be followed my my holy grail La Roche Posay Efficlar Duo + over my chin, or any areas that have broken out.
To finish off my night time routine, I then apply some of the Body Shop Aloe Eye Defense eye cream and a swipe of lip balm.

Morning Routine

It's super lazy but I really hate using water on my face after my shower. When I can be bothered I use my Silky Chamomile Cleansing oil but otherwise I just swipe some Bioderma Sebium over my skin and follow up with the Urban Decay Vitamin Infused Prep Spray. This is full of antioxidants to help reduce oil and minimise pores, it can also be used just before you apply your make-up or throughout the day for a quick skin pick me up. I then go in with my Cetaphil moisturiser, a perfect choice for those with sensitive skin, especially as a result of seasonal changes. Then, finally, I use my Aloe Eye Defense eye cream to de-puff and sooth the eye area ready for make-up application.

After days of dancing at college and not properly getting a chance to cleanse my skin there, I come home and do a 15 minute steam facial using one I purchased from Argos for £12.99. This is so good at opening the pores allowing you to cleanse away any dirt that's trapped straight away. My skin always looks so much clearer after using it!

I also apply facial masks once or twice a week to help combat any breakouts as well as exfoliating with these Yes To Grapefruit brightening facial wipes.

Maybelline Colour Tattoos

*holds collection of Maybelline colour tattoos to the sky and starts singing lion king*
Cream eye shadows can be one of the most challenging things for drugstore brands to get right, some are too creamy and crease like a bitch and others are cream-to-powder finish and disappear quicker than you can say cream eye shadow, but one brand ladies (and gentlemen) has hit the nail on the head. Of course as you can tell from the title of this post, I'm talking about the Maybelline Colour Tattoos, those little glass pots of creamy, long lasting eye shadow goodness.

The formula is spot on and is very comparable to Mac Paint pots in the way that when they set, they're not moving, ever. You could run a marathon and it would still remain completely the way you applied it. The best part about these are that not only can they be used as a base for any shadows that are used over the top, but they also come in the most beautiful array of pigmented colours, so they look equally as beautiful worn on their own.

Not only is the product quality high end, but the packaging also makes it feel just as luxurious. They come packaged in little glass pots, so you can see the product through it, yet they only cost £4.99!

The only down side is that up until now, the UK have been stuck with the same metallic shades for about a year, whereas the US have had Limited edition colours such as nudes and light shimmery shades which I personally think is so unfair.

My Collection

Beige-ing beauty (US only)
A beautiful light shimmery beige. There isn't as much pigment to this as the other colours, but the flecks of gold glitter look so pretty washed across the lid. I picked this up whilst in New York in February, I'm absolutely gutted I didn't get a chance to pick up some other shades from the range.

On and On Bronze
A cool toned metallic bronze. This colour is absolutely beautiful, I tend to wear this on it's own for work as it just adds a hint of something without being too smokey or in your face.

Creamy Beige
A matte light warm brown. Finally a nice matte, every day shade has been launched in the UK. These are the new Leather Effect shades and I believe the other shade is a matte lilac which I definitely need to get my hands on!

Pink Gold
As the name would suggest, it's a metallic pink with gold running through it. This colour is so fresh and pretty, it's the perfect girly pick me up colour.

Metallic Pomegranate
A metallic berry shade. The perfect autumnal shade, works beautifully paired with Mac Cranberry.

a light silvery blue, with purple running through it. This is a stunning duo chrome shade, I've not seen anything like this before from any other drugstore ranges, I've found it works best paired with purple toned smokey eyes.

Eternal Silver
Shimmery silver. This works amazing at bringing light to any smokey eye, placed in the inner corner to brighten, or placed in the centre.
